MTD Software Finder

Terms of Use

Last updated: 25 June 2026

These terms govern your use of MTD Software Finder. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. They're written to be readable, not to bury anything.

What this site is

MTD Software Finder is an independent tool that compares HMRC-recognised Making Tax Digital for Income Tax software and estimates the true VAT-inclusive annual cost of the cheapest plan that fits your situation. It is provided for general information to help you research your options.

It is not advice

We are not an accountant, tax adviser or financial adviser, and we are not affiliated with HMRC. Nothing on this site is tax, accounting, legal or financial advice, and it should not be relied on as such. Accounting software is not a regulated financial product. Always check the details against the vendor's own site and speak to a qualified accountant about your own circumstances before making a decision.

Accuracy and availability

Software pricing, plan features and HMRC recognition change frequently. We verify our data against vendor pricing pages and HMRC's software finder on a regular schedule, and every product shows its own last-verified date — but we can't guarantee that every figure is current or error-free at the moment you read it. The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or completely accurate. See How it works for exactly how the numbers are produced.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you sign up through them — at no extra cost to you. This never affects your ranking or your price; results are ordered purely on true annual cost and fit, decided before any commercial consideration. Full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.

Third-party sites

The site links out to software vendors and affiliate networks. We are not responsible for the content, products, pricing or practices of those external sites — once you click through, their terms apply.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site — for example by attempting to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, circumvent its security, or use it for anything unlawful. The site, its content, data compilation and design are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law; you may view and share links to it, but not republish substantial parts of the data or content as your own.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or any decision you make based on it — including choosing a particular software product. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always lives here with the “last updated” date above. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
